Project description
About this remodel
This Southlake bathroom had a standard tub with a white square-tile surround, chrome fixtures, and a plastic soap dish. The tile was dated and the grout lines made it hard to keep clean. The family still wanted a tub, so the goal was to update the look and make the space easier to maintain without changing the layout. We removed the old surround and rebuilt the tub area with large-format tile in a soft, warm beige with a subtle linear grain. The big tiles run in a staggered pattern, which means far fewer grout lines than the old squares. A recessed niche with metal trim gives you a place for shampoo and soap, and a new white tub sits below the tile. The window is framed cleanly into the tile. A square rain-style shower head, a modern valve trim, and a tub spout in brushed nickel replace the old chrome fixtures. New floor tile in a matching neutral tone keeps the room cohesive.
Result
The finished tub and shower area looks clean, modern, and calm. The large tile makes the wall look seamless, the niche adds practical storage, and the warm neutral palette works with almost any decor. It is also much easier to wipe down than the old grid of small tiles.
Scope
Demolition of the existing tub surround, new tub installation, wall preparation, large-format tile installation, recessed niche, window trim and framing, shower valve and fixture updates, new floor tile, finish work.

Large-format wood-grain-look wall tile in warm beige, metal niche trim, white alcove tub, brushed nickel square shower head, valve trim and tub spout, matching floor tile.
