Project description
About this remodel
This Addison bathroom started with a standard alcove tub, small beige wall tile, and a shower curtain. It worked, but it looked dated and closed-in. The goal was a cleaner, more current look without changing how the room is used day to day. We replaced the tub setup with a frameless glass shower and tiled the walls in large-format gray tile, which means far fewer grout lines. A checkerboard mosaic on the shower floor adds pattern against the calm walls. A brushed gold rain shower with a handheld wand, matching glass hardware, and a gold drain tie the details together.
Result
The finished bathroom feels brighter and more open. The clear glass lets the room read as one space instead of a boxed-in tub, and the larger tile is easier to keep clean. The gold finish gives a neutral bathroom some character without overpowering it.
Scope
Tub-to-shower conversion, demolition of the existing tub and wall tile, new wall and floor tile installation, shower floor mosaic with new drain, frameless glass enclosure, plumbing for the new shower system, finish work.
Materials
Large-format gray wall tile, checkerboard mosaic shower floor tile, brushed gold rain shower with handheld, frameless clear glass with brushed gold hardware, brushed gold square drain.
