White Shaker Kitchen Remodel with Wall Ovens and Lit Glass Cabinets

About this remodel

This Dallas kitchen had honey oak cabinets, speckled granite counters, a diagonal tile backsplash, and brown tile flooring, all set against yellow walls. The materials were in decent shape, but the dark, heavy look made the kitchen feel smaller than it was. We replaced everything to give the space a clean, bright, current look. White shaker cabinets run to the ceiling, and the top row has glass fronts with interior lighting for display and extra depth. The countertops and full-height backsplash are one continuous white surface, and under-cabinet lighting runs along the work area. A stainless wall oven and microwave tower and a gas cooktop under a slim hood replaced the old range and over-the-range microwave. Brushed nickel pulls tie the cabinetry together. The old peninsula was replaced with a long island with a double undermount sink and a pull-down faucet. Glass globe pendants hang above it, with recessed lighting overhead. Light wood-look flooring runs through the space and replaces the dark tile.

Result

The finished kitchen looks brighter, bigger, and more open. The tall cabinets add storage, the lit glass doors add a feature without clutter, and the island gives the space a clear center for cooking, serving, and sitting. The built-in oven tower and cooktop make the layout easier to work in.
